FRENCH HERITAGE PARTICIPATES IN THE JULIAN PRICE HOUSE “DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE”
Preservation Greensboro selects the historic home for a Designer Showhouse
GREENSBORO, N.C., March 28, 2018 –– French Heritage is thrilled to announce that its beautiful furniture will be featured within “Hillside”, the historic home of Julian Price, for a Designer Showhouse. The transformation of this early 20th century English Tudor style gem features more than 9,000 square feet of living space, with 31 rooms. The home will showcase renowned interior designers and nationwide manufacturers, including French Heritage, a fashion-forward furniture company that excels in quality home furnishings.
The esteemed mansion is an architectural gem featuring stucco, herringbone brick, false-half timbered walls, massive brick chimneys, as well as gables, wall dormers, and a stair tower. It is also listed as a county landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
“We are honored to be a part of this Designer Showhouse, especially since it’s right in our backyard,” said Henessy Wayser, President of French Heritage. “We thank Debby Gomulka for showcasing our pieces in her stunning dining room. We believe our furniture embodies the fashion, function, and feeling the designer was seeking to achieve within that space. And, we welcome their visitors to our High Point Showroom at 1638 English Road.”
In the late 1940s, the Julian Price House was donated to First Presbyterian Church. Later, in the 1970s, the home was sold to interior designer Sandra Cowart and her husband. The property regained popularity through its appearance on the 2 hour season finale of A&E’s reality series, “Hoarders.” The current owners of the historic mansion, Michael and Eric Fuko-Rizzo, are closely involved with all aspects of this historic home’s revival.
“We are excited to see what each designer brings to each space,” says Eric Fuko-Rizzo. “We only ask that the interior designers incorporate the glamour of 1929 into the new renovations of 2017. Our intention is to preserve the history and charm of the early 1900’s yet provide the functionality and convenience of today’s modern world.”
“We are thrilled that so much talent and heart have come into this historic mansion, and we are ready to see what our designers and sponsors do to transform each space,” explains Linda Lane, showhouse chair.
On April 7th, this historic home, which is located at 301 Fisher Park Circle, will open to the public for tours.
