French Heritage to show 60 pieces from Bluffton Inn hotel project

Six rooms designed for boutique property on display at April High Point Market

Written by Thomas Russell, April 10, 2018

"HIGH POINT – A project that French Heritage developed for a boutique hotel in South Carolina will also present opportunities for designers and luxury furniture dealers seeking an eclectic mix of bedroom and accent furniture pieces. The Old Town Bluffton Inn in Bluffton, S.C., is a 14-room hotel developed by retired luxury home builder Larry Leary. Having moved from Connecticut to South Carolina to be close to family in the area, including his daughter Danielle, he got the idea to develop a hotel that would fill a void in the marketplace for upscale lodging.

Leary came to the October 2017 High Point Market seeking furnishings for the hotel when he visited the French Heritage showroom, located at 1638 English Road. There he met Henessy Wayser, president of the luxury case goods and upholstery resource. French Heritage took on the project and developed about 150 pieces for the 14 rooms. It is showing six of the rooms at this week’s market with roughly 60 of the pieces on display. The rooms span a variety of styles ranging from neoclassic and tropical to modernly classic and English club room-inspired.

“For me the best part of the project was getting the feelings and emotion of the Inn right,” Henessy Wayser said. “Larry wanted something stately and traditional, while Danielle wanted more fashion, fantasy and art as part of the 14-room inn.”

Wayser added that each room is furnished and designed “with a personality all its own.”

“These personalities are themed to correspond to the experience of guest staying there, as well as, the likes and whims of Danielle and Larry,” Wayser noted. “Using lots of color, pattern and custom pieces, the rooms feel luxuriously comfortable, each an adventure in its own right. It’s more like staying in someone’s home rather than a hotel. Just downstairs you enter into the charm and history of the town, as well as, enjoy several new restaurants that serve farm to table innovative cuisine.”

Installation of the Inn will be in mid-June, Wayser said. In addition to getting a glimpse of several of the rooms at market, visitors to the French Heritage showroom can also register to win a weekend for two at the Inn this summer.

French Heritage also is hosting a Bluffton Inn Southern Hospitality Event from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, April 15. There, guests can meet the owners of the Inn, Larry, Danielle and her husband Vince. Savanna restaurant owner and chef Blake Elsinghorst will prepare southern fare specialties and a signature Bluffton Inn cocktail."

The Facet Collection was one of the top highlights for Lighting & Décor Magazine at High Point Market making their list of Editor's Faves.

Nicole Bowling, Editor-in-Chief, wrote, "Another thing I enjoyed this market was spending some time with Michelle Workman at French Heritage. Los Angeles interior designer turned Tennessee farm girl, Workman entered into a collaboration with the manufacturer to debut her Facet Collection, which is Art-Deco inspired and very customizable with wonderful and thoughtful details. One of her rooms was feminine, with pastels and flowers and a girly, glamorous vibe — across the way, the other was dark and dramatic with moody colors and even moodier silhouettes. Her products worked in each, just with a change in finish, pushing home her idea that each piece can be used in many different ways and in many different settings, especially with product outside of her collection." "Owners Henessy and Jacques Wayser translated their many years living in France into their showroom located at 1638 English Road in High Point. During High Point Market you can get to the French Heritage showroom with the Go Anywhere Shuttle or call to request transportation in the French Heritage van 336.885-2868"

"The Wayser’s view of the French experience includes food, an element that all visitors appreciate and savor. They bring in a Le Cordon Bleu chef and impeccable ingredients to create memorable culinary treats. This is an experience like no other at High Point Market and clearly a stop for buyers to the Fall 2016 High Point Market."
